HATE CRIME AWARENESS

HATE CRIME AWARENESS

Hate crime has no place in our communities.

A hate crime is any criminal offence that is perceived by the victim, or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice towards someone's:

✅ Race or ethnicity
✅ Religion or belief
✅ Sexual orientation
✅ Disability
✅ Transgender identity

Hate crimes can take many forms, including verbal abuse, threatening behaviour, criminal damage, assault, harassment, online abuse, and hate-filled messages.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and valued. If you experience or witness a hate crime, please do not suffer in silence. Reporting incidents helps us take action against offenders, support victims, and make our communities safer for everyone.

📞 In an emergency, always call 999.
📞 For non-emergencies, call 101.
💻 You can also report online via the Leicestershire Police website.

Remember: if you see it, hear it, or experience it, report it.
